Lukaku would have just switched and followed Lovren. And both CB's are then out of their favoured position. It might have worked, but I don't agree that it was a simple, nailed-on solution. Different with Benteke because he's entirely devoid of confidence and can't seem to get anything right.
Then Lovren just pulls him right out of position over on the flank. It can be done. We used to have to do it against Graham Sharpe with Hansen. Had to put Lawrensen onto him because he bullied the **** out of Hansen.
