Evidently you can decapitate an opponent, rip out their still beating heart and roger them with a ragman's trumpet. All okay, so long as you don't 'trip' them. Brill to see the Woolies' latest take on it. Swarbs reckons that if you have to use a slow-mo camera to see the contact, then it isn't enough contact. So you can punch someone in the ribs as they go up for a header, and if the lino spots it and brings it to the ref's attention and a pen is given, then if TV replays support the lino's call... well if you need cameras to see it then it wasn't a hard enough punch to count. And it means Ashley Young has never dived too, apparently. Think their flat caps are cutting off the oxygen to their deformed heads.
As I said in an earlier those on this thread (and on RAWK) who reckon it was a pen are just embarrassing themselves. Liverpool fans are generally straightforward say it as it is sort of fans. We all condemn Ashley Young. You can bet refs have Benteke card marked now he will find it difficult to get another pen.
Utter crap. You all cheered to the rafters and Slurgy said 'there was contact' when he got the QPR captain sent off and got the most bogus penalty of all time when Shaun Derry touched his shirt with his fingertip a few seasons back. You ****ers are trying to re-write history over Young, Ronaldo, Rooney, Jammyjism, Valencia (remeber that one? Johnson's knee gently brushed the heel of Valencia at Anfield, you got a pen and - Slurgy says "there was contact"). You only 'condemn' Young as he's at the end of his career. ****ing flat-capped humbug.
At the end of the day it's just a penalty decision. No one is "embarrassing themselves" with their opinion over it. It's not like we're saying "I thought there was nothing wrong with Adam Johnson being into school girls" . At the end of the day, it was worth it seeing Pardew have a meltdown about it.
What I find funny is on the ref watch with dermot Gallagher, he was no penalty... But never actually gives a reason why he wouldn't give a penalty in the 3 paragraphs underneath. Instead ad goes on to say it's spit opinions, video tech would make no difference i this case and how the time of the decision makes no difference. Despite all his other decisions he clearly explains his reasoning, for some reason he doesn't bother with this one.... Wonder if that's because he has no real reason as to why he wouldn't give it
Benteke hasn't run since he was 7 years old... It is understandable he might be easily toppled running for the first time as an adult.
It's a #joke We're not even discussing whether it's a yellow or a red card Just whether it's actually a foul to kick/knee someone's ankle when sliding in from behind People are making it way more difficult than it needs to be
To be honest. The sport does need to crack down on simulation. A review board watching the game after the match with full video capabilities should be able to retroactively hand out 5 match suspension for simulation. That would quickly get rid of most of it.
But then how else are they going to fill their column inches? Discussing Man Utd's chances to get top 4? Arsenal's title challenge? The potential of Everton's young players? Lol.
Would be bad news for a lot of current players. Good news for fans. Benteke's dive was both funny and helpful for us. (sucked for CP fans though). We've got United soon. They're the ones that pioneered diving in English football. It won't be funny if they dive.
