I'm surprised with Liverpool hovering around mid table. I thought they were going to be higher by now. I thought the opening game was a blip. I'm surprised that there hasn't been talk of Klopp's replacement being muted yet. They never gave Rodgers this much room when Liverpool were 7th. I think he had been sacked by now and Klopp.was being flown over from Germany.
I guess because Rodger’s never won the premier league or champions league. Might buy some a bit more time.
Yeah but they don't want to be like Scum and hang around 7th spot and dent the future chances of success while they get overtaken by Brighton. They've got Arsenal and City in their next 2 games. If they lose them will their board want to start looking for a new manager
Honestly hand on heart I still can't confidently predict any of our games. We are so inconsistent. One thing we can't do Sunday is give Zaha space out wide in which we have given every team this season he frightens the life out of me every time I see him and if we give him a free run we are going to be in big trouble. We need to keep playing hard, but we need to learn to play it better the amount of freekicks and fouls we give away needs to be nipped in the bud asap. the lack of pace at the back is still my big worry in this team when we counter it leaves gaping holes on each flank. Yes it's how we like to play on the front foot with lots of energy my heart goes in my mouth when we are pressing and pushing the 2 fullbacks up and lose the ball anything played on each flank there's acres then we drop to a 3-man central defence giving any winger a field day give that to Zaha we are in deep shyte. Villa we just wanted to do everything so fast and seemed to want to put on a show, but everything was just to fast and furious leading to numerous mistakes. I'd start Summerville Sunday it's his chance and deserves it. I also agree with the poster above if he doesn't get selected Sunday the Manager still doesn't think he's ready so what's the point in having him. It's his chance to come in if he's in the squad it's his place to take. We need to get back on the winning trail because let's be honest here, we haven't played anyone this season so far and teams like Palace are our cup final games in which we have to pick points off. The league so far seems very open at the bottom and no team stands out as certain bottom 3 Canidates. Who we've played Everton and Villa look poor but what does that say about us? as we failed to beat either on home soil. Time to put on a better show and show we want to stay in this league more than others.
Said this before but that is the strategy. You keep your players central and let them have the wings, so if they break the press they do it by switching wings… the defensive strategy is we have the bodies in the middle to deal with the winger cutting back… or the cross when it comes. We saw this at palace last year. Zaha had loads of the ball in dangerous looking places… and caused a few scares in the last 20 mins especially - but couldn’t create anything clear cut. Saying we need to stop pushing full backs up and giving wingers space is like telling bielsa not to man mark. It just ain’t going to happen I’m afraid. just hide behind the sofa with the rest of us
Maybe they see that they’re still largely dominating games and that they have a very proven manager who’s achieved huge amounts on a smaller budget than competitors maybe they see that, even in this wacky world of results driven football, that they’d have to be fckng nutters to get rid of one of the world’s best managers after a few average results.
I see crockshaw if fooked again. Was he ever fit anyway. He has no sell on value at all. He makes darren anderton look like Lazarus.
Waits for announcement that Paddy is out of match day squad due to obtaining back injury in training Inside Training : Small Games and Bamford Overhead Kick.
aha Sorry Eric, on youtube the video is titled Inside Training : Small Games and Bamford Overhead Kick. Didn't realise that the title wasn't showing in full on here when I posted the link
At least you eventually understood what I was getting at, even if it did take over 5 minutes for the punchline
