Just had a quick Google and my God that squad was terrible. I reckon we would take only take Defoe out of that over any of the current squad.

Don't know why some people had this down as an easier game when the fixtures came out, going to be really difficult. 0-0 would be excellent for me (though hat-tricks for both Bobbrey and Traore to shut the bitter Ajax mob up would be better!).

I like Palace. I like the gaffer; they’ve a bunch of quality players, decent set of fans and it’s a great club in terms of what they do locally.

Bit of an old school club, with massive links to the community.

They also a very good side, this is a proper PL away game and I think we will be far more switched on than we were at Burnley.

I can see it being a 1-1 all day and I’ll be happy with that, there’s nothing to stop either side winning it.

It’s an absolute credit to the summer recruitment (again) that I don’t see a massive gap between the first 11 now that they’ve lost the superb Eze.

7 from 12 with a home game to come would be very palatable.

I think this match away suits our style more than Burnley. They sat back, gave up possession and back themselves to not give many chances away. I think under RLB we always struggle against that its teams that go at us where we play the best.

Ironically Burnley last season tried it and I'd say they were lucky to get even a point out they got out of the two matches could of and probably should have won both!

We were soundly beaten the other week though.

I suspect it's because it'll be easier than the harder games.

Seriously though, we may as well post 'This is will be a tough game' for every one, home or away'.

I'd happily take a point in every away game and most of the home games ...

... we just have to make the most of our home games and nick three points from the odd away game when the chances fall our way.

We're hard to beat and have a goal threat, can't hope for much more imo.

Home form massive, but we need to be able to nick a point here and there away from home. Would be delighted with a draw, but feel they will have too much for us. Let's hope we put in a good performance and take it from there...

I will back us to sneak a point on the counter (1-1), couple of key injuries to Sarr and Wharton gives us more of a chance and as HLTCO said on that preview pod they struggle to break teams down

I think this will be a difficult match in a season of difficult matches. Our lack of preparation time worries me.....so many key players away for the International farce, and travelling will likely mean a minimum of time available for most. I'm not expecting anything, hoping we don't get hammered and will be massively happy with a point.

Completely agree. We will always struggle in games like Burnley. We will make chances when teams come at us.

This is a proper away game at a place we generally do alright.

1-1. Brobbey bundles over 3 defenders to launch an absolute bullet in off the stanchion from 6 yards in injury time.
