Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has contradicted his manager Dougie Freedman by confirming that the club do want to sign Robert Earnshaw. The Eagles manager has previously said that there was no truth in rumours linking him with a move for the Wales international. But Parish says they are interested in bringing the recently released Nottingham Forest striker. Earnshaw is believed to have visited Selhurst Park to hold talks with Freedman about joining the Championship side. Parish said the club were now considering how far they will go to sign the 30-year-old, who is also wanted by Cardiff. He said: "Rob is certainly in our thoughts. He is out of contract and Forest have made him an offer, but I'm sure a lot of clubs want him. "I'm not sure how much it will be pursued beyond a passing interest, but he is the type of calibre of player we want to bring to the club."
