Not saying we should rely on away support FFS just pointing out the stats. We haven't yet had a yorkshire derby at home agasint TWS Donny and Barnsley not to mention the likes of Soton.
It's not a shocking argument when you're comparing average attendances with other clubs, or with ourselves in previous seasons. It's pretty obvious that even with the same home support we're going to have a lower average if there's barely any away fans been turning up.
Obviously it will have an affect, but away crowds are pretty constant across the league from last season from what I've seen, it was more that our home fans haven't been turning up in anywhere near decent numbers that I was on about. This is true, but it's not significantly worse than the last 3 or 4 seasons, and they're down from those too. And that was sort of my point anyway, we need to be doing more to get people at games, whether giving away tickets or whatever.
What about an offer on season tickets for next season. Assuming we go back to February/March release. Buy them in the initial discount for the normal price (not sure about other people but mine was £350). If we get promoted we'll give £100 back out of the PL TV money, £50 concessions. If you wait to buy then you won't get the £100/£50 off. If we get promoted then it won't matter about the money too much, and we'll be sold out anyway. If we stay down the promotion should have encouraged enough extra people to gamble that they're then comitted to being at games next season and the attendances are up.
