No modric, sandro or huddlestone playing, so kranjcar and livermore in CM? yet palacios isnt injured and he aint in the squad?
Modric, Sandro and Huddlestone missing tonight besides Palaciou and Crouch? Does that meanwe are buying all 5?
No to crouch.....but yes please for Palacios, like potts said he's too expensive especialy at his age.
Don't want to put a damper on things lads but... I heard so many things about these player's. I won't believe it until we sign any of them. OFF topic.. anyone have a decent link for tonights game? <whistle?
Good point Potts plus, aren't we playing United at home in September? Maybe Pulis doing his homework early?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2029101/Wilson-Palacios-join-Stoke-8m.html Stoke are closing in on Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios for a club record fee of £8million. The Honduras international did not play against Manchester United on Monday night because of injury but Stoke manager Tony Pulis admitted he is trying to bring the player to the Britannia stadium. He said: âWe havenât had Palacios in our club to tell us whether heâs fit, injured or whatever. âBut fingers crossed we will get some new players in. We know weâve got to get some in to give the squad a lift. Iâm not getting desperate â Iâm a cool head.â Palacios would provide competition for Rory Delap and Glenn Whelan in the centre of the Stoke midfield. Having joined Spurs from Wigan for £12m in Jan 2009, he has found first-team opportunities at White Hart Lane limited this year.
LOL! "Palacious would provide competition for Rory & Glen ........" LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How could you place Palacious in the same sentence as our midfield?
Agreed Smithers - LMFAO; Like My Felicitous Auntie Olive!!! Didn't know you had an Auntie Olive as well, what a coincedence! IBAMU!!
Could this perhaps hurry up the Palacios deal up. *Clutching straws* http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14684548.stm West Ham are in talks with Tottenham Hotspur about signing midfielder Scott Parker. The England player, 30, has been tipped to leave Upton Park since the Hammers' relegation to the Championship in May. Parker has been strongly linked with Tottenham this summer and Spurs failed with a bid to sign him last year. "I am not in talks (personally) with them but there is some dialogue going on at the moment," West Ham manager Sam Allardyce said. "That is all I am aware of." Earlier in the summer Chelsea were said to be interested in midfielder, who is rated at £8m.
Parker has signed for £6 mill.Surely Spurs have now got a surplus of midfielders,Let`s have Jenas as well as Palacios in the midfield,Crouch and Defoe up front. That`ll do for starters!!!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...490&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Stoke are close to pulling off a spectacular £20million double deal for Wilson Palacios and Peter Crouch as they bid to challenge for honours at home and abroad. Negotiations for Tottenham midfielder Palacios' move to the Britannia Stadium have been successfully concluded, and he is now a Stoke player. Tottenham's England striker Crouch is in the Potteries discussing a transfer to Stoke, who are confident he will join them and complete a significant coup that will send out a serious statement of intent about Tony Pulis' side's ambitions this season. Stoke initially moved for the pair earlier this month, but were frustrated by an inability to agree valuations with the White Hart Lane club and Crouch's reluctance to leave Tottenham, following a Champions' League campaign last season. Pulis and chairman Peter Coates persevered, however, and are finally on the brink of a breakthrough that will increase their prospects of maintaining a challenge for honours domestically and in the Europa League. It is understood Palacios is costing between £7million and £9m and that the fee for Crouch, who is expected to sign in the next 24 hours, is between £11m and £13m. Pulis had sounded a note of caution over his side's recruitment drive, ahead of their game with West Brom, saying: 'We have a wage structure here that we are keen to keep to. That is how the club is run, and it is the right way to go. 'The problem is that, as we improve as a club, we are asking players to come here for maybe less wages than they are already on. 'That is the difficult part. But we will keep pursuing our targets, and do our best to bring them here, because at the moment, we are not capable of competing on two fronts, home and in Europe.'
Mark Holmes, the sub editor of the site Team Talk, has tweeted these things, and I take notice of when Holmes post things like this as he generally doesn't say something like that unless it's very very close. http://twitter.com/#!/Homzy/status/107451687274426368 @Homzy Mark Holmes I was hoping it wouldn't hit the papers today, but both Palacios and Crouch should be announced as Stoke players on Monday. http://twitter.com/#!/Homzy/status/107452297906368513 @Homzy Mark Holmes Yep. Jerome still a possibility. Bid on table for Zaha. Don't rule out SWP still. http://twitter.com/#!/Homzy/status/107454176619012096 @Homzy Mark Holmes I should sound the note of caution that nothing is 100% until pen has been put to paper. Which I'm told neither player has done YET. http://twitter.com/#!/Homzy/status/107454641524064256 @Homzy Mark Holmes @Tim_SCFC I was told last night by someone I trust that they are done and have had confirmation today.
Has this chap got things spot on before? I don't want to doubt what he says, but I'm getting fed up of hearing links to players, building my hopes up and then feeling deflated when nothing happens. As he says, it's not 100% until pen has been put to paper... I'll try not to get too excited until the club has made an official announcement, but it's the waiting that the hardest...
Homzy has got a good record and since he works for Team Talk he's got connections with Sky, so there's good sources for transfer info there. He never tweets about a transfer unless it's very very close so I trust him. Agreed. Plus it would be just like Stoke to have the deals done then decide, because it's a bank holiday on Monday/Tuesday, to wait until Wednesday to announce it!! http://twitter.com/#!/Homzy/status/107471760424845312 @Homzy Mark Holmes @gm8ty Both Spurs players should be announced on Monday at latest. Everything's agreed. But nothing is certain until it's official!
Links with Sky? I keep looking for info on their website, but alas in vain. Let's hope he's right on this one.
Apparently so. He says Team Talk, to use his words "is part of Sky". To be fair he isn't the only one reporting this. Even before The Mail Exclusive, a few on Twitter and the Oatie said Palacios was at the ground. He's at the training ground apparently now.
