What a weapon

goals win games you idiot. hes got more goals at madrid than he has appearances. hes better at real than he was at united - phackt

Hello ****tard.

Goals win games? So do assists and great footballers. At United ronaldo was all 3. at madrid hes just the goals and great footballer. He had more to his game and was a better footballer.

Understand? ****tard. Good stuff.

Now **** off, please <ok>

You can tell when people dont understand the game beyond putting the ball in the net.

How does the ball get in to the net? Magic? Or through players playing football? So what if a player was brilliant at the football bit as well as the scoring bit...... he would be better than someone who excelled in the scoring charts.....

wasnt this the whole argument over Messi being better..... he brought more to barcelona than Ronaldo did to madrid?

I rest my case, the idiots can chuck themselves off a cliff. Dont forget to say bye though <ok>

Probably a slightly over the top response!!

What are his assist stats like then United v Real out of interest?

He's won world player of the year whilst at Madrid which in itself is the clearest indication of his progress, plus his astonishing goal records.

He was WPOTY at Utd as well in 2008. Which is arguably more impressive - harder to win as a 23 year old than as a 28 year old.

Think he's become a more impressive individual player at Real, but hard to rate him as a member of two very different teams. The emphasis at Utd was always on the team - Ronaldo was only given freedom to roam and score when it would benefit the team, and had to be more disciplined when the tactics demanded it. At Real he is given that freedom regardless, which is arguably why Real struggled so much against Barca in the Pellegrini and Mourinho years.

One look at his trophy record with both clubs says a lot - three titles, one CL one runner up and three domestic cups at Utd from age 18-24. one title, one CL and two domestic cups at Real from age 24-29. The focus on Ronaldo being the figurehead of the team has been repaid in goals, but not in big success imo.

Epic argument. Take a bow son. Don't drop your flag though.

What's there to argue about? A Paddy Liverpool fan just called me a plastic and accused ME of having anger issues whilst in a fit of rage himself.

Anger and racism now. I have nothing else to say to you, post away mate. Good luck. We're talking football here.

True but then for most of that time he was competing with a amazing Barca team domestically so harder to win titles and cups against that. The fact he also coped so well with being the focus and world's most expensive player also shows how well he has done.

As I say though, he was amazing at both clubs so moot point.

It's in no way dismissing United. I expect he'd have improved even more had he stayed with you, that's the nature of the man and his dedication to be the best. Have to admire that as I don't think he's as naturally talented as Messi.

Now f**k off, please <ok>

on average he gets about 15 assists a season at madrid as well as 35+ goals, so yeah he is clearly the better footballer at madrid, not saying he wasnt good at united cause he was, and maybe he did provide more assists than goals at united but goals are what win you games, in fact hes most likely being the sole reason why madrid win so many games cause without him i guarantee they wouldnt be in high positions on the table. maybe you stop being a biased close minded man u fan and do some research next time you f**king genius

True, but then at Utd he was competing with an amazing Chelsea side, at least in his first few years, and that was a big challenge for a teenager trying to establish himself and build his own confidence in his abilities.

I agree with you that he would probably have improved more had he stayed here, but improved in terms of his ability to control the entire game, rather than just hit the winning goals. I think SAF saw him as a Maradona type of player who would influence whole games, whereas now he's moved to Real he's been converted into a Pele style goal machine, but one who does rely more on the team around him giving him the chances.

Either way, he's still plenty good enough!
