They’ve just said “speculation is unhelpful but it’s not a triple-stabbing” which only makes me speculate it’s a quadruple or quintuple stabbing

Scumbag, saw the short video of this, he needs his head pounding...not condoning violence, but it's an emotion you go through when you see stories like this.

All supposed to be about his diminished mental state, ah right so it was so diminished that he knew to hide the knife, righto.

Yup, only purchased the knife two days beforehand at a local shop.

Trouble is he is 28 years old, so not sure what legislation you can bring in to prevent there sale, sort of knife used in every day cooking I believe. Not sure what the shop owner could do, other than ask a few basic questions and be satisfied with the responses.

I know you are against the death penalty and I'm not entirely 'comfortable' about reinstating it ... but...

I think it's that inbuilt Christian in me, it's complex.

I let my emotions take over when I see stories like that and what I'd like to do to someone like him, probably isn't fit to be said on an internet forum but it would be pretty gruesome and very slow.

Then I remember it's a test in life, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth it's something that warps your own mind, condoning the same human behaviour of evil in retaliation.

Satisfying ones lust for vengeance.

Reminding my thought process to step back and retrain that thought process and focus on what we could do to prevent it. The various paths of life playing out in front of us.

For me death is not punishment. The challenge is keeping your sanity by dealing with life appropriately as taught in all faiths. Evil should be overcome with good and not retaliation.

Something like that anyway.

Yep you can't legislate or mitigate against that sort of stuff

One would hope that scum like this get their come uppance once they are on the inside.

What really pushes my buttons is the Human Rights bollocks for these types - scrotes like this should face a lifetime of punishment, devoid of things like TV / Internet etc IMHO - basic food rashions - an hour's exercise - even hard labour, until he's a geriatric- possibly access to books..

He forfeited his 'Human Rights' when he took away that little girls...

Rant over

Well put -

... my only 'challenge' would be 'lust for justice' rather than 'vengeance' ...

I don't think that is necessarily wrong. Maybe the part you want him tortured is more for revenge but executing someone as dangerous as this is more a preventative thing for me.

The guy is a cancer, we remove those parts from society or ourselves. In the best case, if he has a mental problem which has caused him want to stab a little girl at random unprovoked, we don't know when he will strike again. At worse he's a psycho killer in which case we definitely need to bin him off.

I'm all for rehabilitation but some crimes are just too heinous.

Been reading about this kidnapping...

Got to say that there could be a strong possibility it's linked to would be kidnappers being tipped off where her mother lives, having invited cameras into her home several months ago.

Although it's something like 6 days now, not sure why kidnappers would want to look after an elderly woman for that length of time, especially one that needs medication.

Although if it's the cartel then they will have more resources, than a couple of weird chancers off the street.
