The armed forces have just stormed Number. 10 and removed Starmer from power, Private Pike is in charge now.

You've missed a whole chunk of this thread duggie, so suggest you go back and read it for context.
You know he gets confused because of too much Ganga and you take advantage of that, his main point about the carnage caused by ILLEGAL migrants is shared by most people, and when it comes to muslims he complains about suicide bombers etc who probably were illegals in the first place

He should just stick to the illegal problem and not general immigrants

I'm not taking advantage of him <laugh>

Besides, Sucky is 26 now so he's old enough to take care of himself.

Sort yer quotes out, Dugsta ffs!

No illegal crossings in the last week.

<party>

Crossings have been going down for ages and loads of hotels have been closed.

Deporting those who occupied them is another matter entirely as the courts in this country have way too much power (another legacy we have Blair to thank for), but there is progress across the board.

The problem is Starmer is an appalling communicator so even positive news sounds like the outbreak of a pandemic as soon as he utters the words.

According to the stats and against my better judgement, it was suggested we could be heading for the worst June on record for crossings, not sure what's making them think that though, because it wasn't how I read the figures.

The problem is the figures I looked at are about 4/5 days behind, so maybe there is something I've not seen yet. I was looking at the more indepth figures, not the basic one they stick up.

In my judgement I agree with you it's going down, with only 2023 being better, and I'm looking back to as far as 2018.

So I think they are turning a corner with this, but Starmer will probably not be in power to see the fruits of it.

However, I hasten to add, for some reason they think the totals will go up, I don't agree with that assessment but should know more in a few days, when the next stats come out.

As for the hotels, I've read Crowborough mentioned so many times I've given up, it's clear they are not going into Crowborough, because it's capacity would have probably already been filled ages ago. They will have been dispersed around the country and that way not noticed so much, HMO's do cause a stir with people though.

Jail the cnut for life.

Bit of a racist post mind (not yours). Why did they only describe the white guy as English? Shaan is also born and bred in this country. Just because he doesn’t have a ‘typical’ English name, he’s still as English as everyone else born here.

I'm more bothered by the fact that he was cleared of murder. Maybe if he'd axed him an eleventh time the judge would have taken it more seriously.

Yes and this is also why stats can be so misleading. It's much easier to doctor the numbers and claim victory than it is to tackle the actual problem.

How do you get the numbers of hotels down without deporting anyone? Disperse them across HMOs.

How do you get the number of boats to drop without stopping any? Monitor a smaller stretch of coastline or the same stretch for fewer hours a day.

I had this a few years back when I attended a conference at UN Headquarters (my absolute favourite place in the whole wide world) and some junior congressman got up and made a speech about how much progress the City of New York had made in tackling its homeless problem. Everyone ooohed and aaahed and then two weeks later it was revealed that they'd simply been paying homeless people to get on one-way coaches to California.
