I used to work for various agencies that were involved in social services. I got called to a domestic incident once. I went with the DVO and the police. Turned up at this house and the woman was clearly trying to hide something from us. The DVO was telling her to come with us but she refused. Later on that evening when I was at home, the local news was on and they were talking about an armed incident in the village id been to earlier. Turned out that the Husband was upstairs when we were there, he got angry with her because the police had been called and had threatened to kill her with his shotgun. When neighbours heard her screaming, they kicked down the door, matey then went into the street and started threatening the neighbours with his shotgun I was like, **** he could have just come downstairs and shot anyone of us right there
I'm actually not sure on that one. I've not looked into that one or heard about that one. It probably varies state to state and I'm sure depends on the illness. I would guess in New York you can't... but probably (wouldn't surprise me) in South Carolina you probably still can. (either way, if you buy from a private seller, noone is going to check)

Well, I think everyone is probably glad they found the killer. That, at least, lessens the chance of this happening again by a small amount. (although some people probably won't care if they're caught- and others will use something like this as a chance for suicide by cop... but it will stop some people knowing they're not going to get away with it. Now interested to see his motivation- if he is just a leftist, or something else. All I can find online about the kid is that he's 22, has a father and is a Christian.
Looked like a copycat incident of the Trump shooting, difference being this time the shooter succeeded. Major incidents often have a sequence of copycats. Probably looked at the failings of the previous event and decided he could do better. The reasoning could be any amount of many, I wondered if he was upset with CK's views on gun crime, so decided to give him a taste of his own medicine. Crass but reality plays out these things. All subjective on my part.

Ok. Definitely a political assassination. The guy had had conversations with family talking about how much he hated Kirk's politics. I also hated his politics but that's not the way to react. Whether you're a communist or a Nazi or anything in between you have the right to believe what you believe and others have the right to hate you for what you believe... But they don't have the right to kill you.
It seems like the family friend who chucked him in waited until the 100k reward was offered. Fair play
