Suspended sentence after threatening her and her children ffs. That's hardly a deterrent.

Angela Rayner: Man sentenced for threats to Labour deputy leader - BBC News

A man who sent deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner a threatening email telling her to "watch your back and your kids" has been sentenced.

Benjamin Iliffe, 36, admitted sending the email to the Ashton-under-Lyne MP from his personal account.

A spokesman for Ms Rayner said she had received several threatening and abusive communications in recent weeks.

Iliffe, of Cambridgeshire, was sentenced to 15 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months.

He was also made subject of a two-year restraining order not to contact Ms Rayner directly or indirectly, not to talk about her on social media and not to go to her office in Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester.

Iliffe pleaded guilty at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court to sending the email and possessing a quantity of cannabis on Wednesday, when he was arrested.

The court heard he warned Ms Rayner to "watch your back and your kids" in the email on 16 October, along with calling her a four-letter expletive.

Yeah someone put the newspaper article up before I think. I stabbed him in the heart, but he's got no heart. He said I wouldn't do it again so I stabbed him twice more, he seriously underestimated her. :cheesy:

I'd be interested to know what psychologists make of her. Didn't deny the crime, spoke quite calmly about what she done and why she did it, also added in a touch of humour. He might still have been alive if he hadn't underestimated his wifes mentality at the time of the first stab.

I think she handled the situation alarmingly well.

Describing it like she's just burnt some toast and set off a fire alarm or something.

I think you just get to a certain age, and don't give a shhite anymore mate. There's a lot of people who live together for years, but only because that's what they've come accustomed too and upping sticks for them is too much aggravation - I don't expect either of them forsee being forced by the government to be locked indoors together, with no escape, it had the outcome of a psycho thriller written all over it.

Two TV's in separate rooms is the solution, that way I dont have to watch what my wife thinks is good TV

Personally I think she’s a ****ing psychopath. He was her 4th husband and 12 years older than her, I think she just decided to do him in and play the abused wife role, only she was **** at it and just came across as a cold blooded murderer.

I never know it was her 4th <laugh>

I assumed they'd been married for years, be interesting to hear the view of the previous three hubbies, well, unless they are under the patio.

They’d been together over 20 years tbf like, his daughter claimed she was the abuser and her old man was too proud to ask for help. I was basing my view on the video where the coppers have just arrived, it was too cold, an abused woman who’d snapped wouldn’t have acted like that imho, there’d have been initial shock and remorse, it just didn’t add up for me.
