Sure it will be ... and may then have had a knock-on effect with other 'alleged' aspects e.g. the police requiring that the mother unveil etc for identification - which isn't unreasonable from a legal perspective (but possibly difficult from a cultural one) - she was a primary figure in the first altercation (on plane etc) - and also the second in the parking area before the police arrived - lot of it conjecture, but it's clear that a lot went on before it all blew up with the punch-up and kicking incident ...

The bit that gets me is the family and their lawyer had plenty of chance to explain all this when they were banging on about cyst and assassination, so why didn't they - I can only assume because they have something to hide, so we will start our defence around police brutality...rather than say, well I tried to get at the racist on the plane but was held back by passengers, so me and a few lads got him in baggage, then we had another pop outside....but they didn't want to seem to tell the media all this for some reason...they kept the focus on the cops instead because they could see massive £££ signs.

The other bit that is now going under the radar is the lawyer's claim that the brother in the GMP is now too frightened to go to work ...

1) Why?
2) Why didn't his family contact him throughout all of it - perhaps they did - and if they did wouldn't he have been telling them both what to do and, primarily, just to leave it to the police to sort?

Something doesn't add-up ... again

The guys should have just been straight up, we tried to get to the racist (understandable) and things, well, sort of just got a little out of hand lol. But none of this was mentioned from anything I saw...it was all about cops being racist thugs and we were just going about our day peacefully, my bro only wanted a coffee from the machine.
 
One of the things with humans, they have this tendency to lie when things go a bit tits up. Instead of telling the truth, they lie, then that lie becomes even bigger than the problem ever was. Maybe they felt the need to lie and react the way they did, because they felt racism isn't dealt with seriously enough, and they've faced situations like that too many times, so took the law into their own hands. Problem is now, none of this is going to help towards stopping racism and it's all mushroomed out of proportion.

What I haven't seen anywhere yet (may just have missed it) is who called the police in the first place and what reason was given for the call ...

Seen another lawyer (Humans Rights), Aamer Anwar, criticising Burnham for saying the incident needed to be understood 'in full context' *paraphrase...

Lawyer arguing context irrelevant to what the officer did ...

That my friends is more absolute bollocks ... 'mitigation' is a concept often used in law by defence lawyers ... admittedly not always successfully - but it does need consideration..

She looks like one of those annoying people who stands right by the carousel stopping you getting your bag. That should be a year inside.

The toothpaste is out the tube. Every **** and his wife cried foul when the first video came out and nobody is changing their mind now. The narrative just moves a bit to “the copper is still in the wrong for losing it”. He isn’t. Should have just shot them and worried about it after. Bored of these same ****s turning everything into the biggest issue ever and evidence they’re victims.

It’s the racism issue that has me angry, tbh. Asian and Black people literally viciously assault the police, broken noses, the lot. There’s a fear to deal with them effectively because of the communities ‘rising up’ and protesting. I’m a white person and I know personally two white lads who have hit the police. Both locked up, court next morning, remanded to custody. The authorities know they’ll be no outbursts or communities rising up if this was a white bloke being kicked in the head for battering the police.

I have supported black and Asian peoples fight for equality. I would like to think they’d be looking at this and are very uneasy about it. Controversial but I couldn’t give a ****e because it’s true and everyone knows it.

I agree with you. I didn't understand their protests at all, it seemed to me a bunch of youths and middle age men disguised as traffic cones, looking for a fight in Rochdale (you'd need to have seen the Rochdale police station footage to get that quib).

Yeah I seen it <laugh>

Now we’ve seen the full video, all I can say is if this was in even moderate countries like France or the Netherlands, if these lads had have attacked their ARMED officers in an airport, they’d have been shot dead and it would have been accepted. In this country the worst they get after their assault is a boot to the head and people in this country protest outside of police stations and criticise the police.

Imagine the outrage if it had gone the other way and one of the officers had their gun taken off them?

This was one of the arguments all along, someone said IF they were armed officers, they are trained to kick you because they have to stop any threat that could lead to you being disarmed. If the lad was told to keep his head on the floor, that's where it had to stay, regardless of how uncomfortable you may feel. Like you say if this had been any other country, they'd have been dealt a far worse. I don't see people complaining when cops wade into football fans, they know the rules behave yourself or get battered. I don't want our cops going soft, when you go soft people just take the piss.

My feeling is if you attack armed police in an airport the potential is then there for the gun to be turned on the officer and then them lads to go looking for the person/people that may or may not have racially abused their family member.

That can’t be allowed to happen so as far as I’m concerned attack the armed police in an airport especially and the rule of law goes out of the window. You have no rights and if the worst you get is a boot to the head you can count yourself a very lucky boy.

We all know it’s accepted with football fans. They deserve it, though. Different mentality for different sections of society not just race.
