Looks like a wafer thin edge has been missed. Bit of luck for us, but a nice steady start

My stream went down but I think NZ didn’t review and missed out on a wicket

They didn't review and hot spot showed the tiniest of edges.

Would have been a brave call. Sibley and burns looking OK so far

I like the two fours Sibley has timed beautifully through the legside, does not look flustered or a bag of nerves

Sibley looks calm, collected and a presence at the crease to me

The lad looks made for test match opening so far, against a very handy attack

Yes a good test match opener leaves the ball more than he plays early doors so touch wood he becomes our next proper opener :emoticon-0148-yes:

only one scare from a non reviewed very feint edge

it’s remarkably calm and serene so far for England

Sibley has faced 42 balls. 2 x 4's a single and 39 dot balls. We'll see how his temperament is now because that might start applying it's own pressure.

They’ve shown it, how Sibley points his left elbow, down the pitch, just as the bowler cones in

I can’t take my eye off that elbow now

Sibley c Taylor b grandhomme 22. Drive outside off stump well caught by ex Durham Taylor wide, low to his right at first slip

    52 for 1

    Denly now at the crease

the comms were saying it took to long for NZ to pitch it up outside off stump to Sibley. The lad on debut look assured though imo and I look forward to seeing more of him

it was a superb swinging ball mind from the bowler

    Burns 35 off 84

    Denly 4 off 27

imo England won the first hour clearly but NZ bowled better as it went on. Good test match cricket and as I’m off to bed I would be happy to see England around 275 to 300 for 5 come the morning
