At 91/7 I thought it was pretty much over and was obviously hoping for as Afghan win. Fair play to Glen Maxwell though, I think that's the best one day innings played (when you consider they were out of the game at 91/7 and put on 200 runs for that 8th wicket; Maxwell scored 90% of those runs; it was essentially a knock-out game; the conditions were benefitting the opposition). I cannot think of a better one.
That dropped catch on Maxwell cost them the game ultimately. It was as easy as you’ll see and the Aussies would have been 120 odd for 8. That would have been game over. Credit to the convicts though. That was some performance from Maxwell and also Cummins who backed him up well.
Personally I think the format for this WC, with basically a league, has been ****. As a tournament it's been dry. Much prefer groups/tables, where every game you have some excitement about results with the to and fro of who's going to qualify.
Yeah, you'd think. Clearly not a batting wicket though, so will be very interesting! I reckon they are 30-40 short.
smith and Warner gone, great news. India are the best side, but the moaning the fans did after 2019…..I don’t want either side to win.
Yeah I'm conflicted. I really don't want Australia to win but there's so many dislikeable players on both sides I'll be able to enjoy whichever ones lose. Overall it's probably funnier watching the India fans if they lose so that'd be entertaining. Glad Warner is out as I've nothing against Head, Labuschagne or Maxwell.
