10 or 11 innings against Australia. Average 15. Highest score 42.

I’m actually a big fan of him. He’s got so much potential and ability but he’s starting to flatter to deceive now.
Carrying a shoulder injury too which won’t help this time, but I agree, even when fit he’s not done it.

we needed pace bowling. Anderson was a man off. Might as well have bowled me! Mark Wood and/or Archer would’ve made a massive difference. Still don’t think we’d win but would be a lot closer. We can’t play that pace and Cummins and Starc are very very good.

I'm shocked that's been overturned. Yes it looked like he grounded it but when he pulled it up his fingers were under the ball it would be impossible to manipulate his fingers that quickly so surely they were always under the ball. Starc is the only one that will know for sure but for me his fingers were always under that

Unless he is some kind of freak with 12" fingers, there is no way they could be under the ball

Well, after years of at least competing with the Aussies on home soil we are back to the bad old days of 1989, 1993 and 2001. The frustrating thing is that these lot aren't all that. Cummins and Starc can be dangerous and Smith accumulates runs without ever looking like getting out, but after that there's not much else other a few lads who've been in good form for the last 12-24 months. Nowhere near the class of the Langer, Hayden, Ponting, Waugh. Border, Healy, Warne, McGrath, McDermott eras

The closest we've matched in years and we are chucking it away for the want of a high run rate

Expect defeat to come early tomorrow and whilst we might take 1 of the last 3 tests, The Ashes are over as a contest

Sorry but that one is out. Fully in control of the ball before us used it to balance himself. Nothing like the Labuschagne one wher he tried to cheat.

Think they know how big a **** up they made in giving Root out which is the only reason they didn’t give that

Edit. Ignore that, having seen it back a few times now, he’s a cheat like the rest!!

Starc got what he deserved. There was no need to do that he could have rolled keeping the hand with the ball in the air. That was not out to me simple as that. McGrath and so on bitching and moaning. They just need to put their sandpaper back in their pants. Never give up and have the mindset we can do this. Stokes has some history here. Get through the first 30 minutes without losing a wicket. But bit by bit try and push field back. You will tell with the Aussies when the panic button is pressed when they resort to the short stuff. Don’t let the doom-mongers affect the mentality of coming out the game with something. A bit like the lads with 10 games to go when I think we got f*cked off Stoke and look where we ended up. Go for it England!!!

Basically we need hundreds from Duckett and Stokes I think. If the ball and the pitch dies and Stokes gets his eye in we can win but need a perfect performance realistically. Looking forward to it. Think the criticism of Pope is a bit harsh, looked a good ball to me

Yeah I still don’t see it sadly. Screwed it up chasing the short stuff. Bit of a fight and some pride would be nice.

It all loks so sedate, but you know there is a wicket round the corner at any minute.
England making it look easy right up until the point where it isn't any more. If these 2 are still batting with less than 100 to get then I'll start to believe

switched it on (late) and thought the two of them had done canny and ducket was out next ball...back off now, can see it being the old england collapse now, hope i am wrong.
