Nasser said exactly the same. Banging it in tires the bowler out.
It's an approach that has worked for the last 12 months, I get it but you also have to play the situation. Nowt wrong with an hour of swaying out the way and not scoring. What's their plan B when we refuse to engage and Cummins. Starc and Hazelwood are blowing out their arses?

Yeah it's the Ashes FFS and ****ing throwing it away. Going to turn fans against them at this rate.
If we go 2-0 which looks likely then we could just as easily lose 5-0 and that will definitely turn fans against it. Don't want to agree with the boring old farts like Agnew and Vaughan but you do have to respect the game

From our 7 “batsmen” (Crawley, Duckett, Pope,Root, Brook, Stokes, Bairstow), 6 gave their wickets away. (Root should not have been given out but still a poor choice of shot)

when a tail ender gets out fending, sweeping, trying to score, that’s fine. Batsmen have no excuse

Must be some explanation for this show, very poor and so easy for the Aussies, I have no idea about the game tbh but I thought you were limited to 2 short balls an over either I am wrong or the rules have changed.

It's ridiculous. Just sway out the way and let them get tired. They can't bowl this short stuff all day when they are a bowler light

Exactly. Mot many are natural and good hookers of the ball. Only Stokes and Crawley find it natural in this team and neither were out to one.

There's a technique in watching and avoiding , and the macho hookalot approach to a set field is just daft. It's not even particularly "attacking" as a lot of the high risk shots can end up getting a single.

Losing nine wickets for 140 or so on that pitch, in mostly good conditions is a meek surrender really.

You are correct. 2 short balls an over, which is defined as being above the shoulder. The Aussies are banging it in to the chest and can bowl as many as they want like that.

Only seen Brooks dissmial from this morning as I'm at work. Looked an absolutely mental shot to try and hit.

Miracle if we win this match.

He's looked a really good player up to now. But he is going to get short ball after short ball after this match, as he has looked poor against it.

Others have had this issue in the past, and they either sort it out, or they fade from test cricket.

Quite. When we have four No 10 or 11 batsmen, the others have to do a lot better .
