England win the toss and will bowl in the first Test.
A decision that could backfire.
I’m going out on a limb and calling it a good decision……Should have batted first
I’m going out on a limb and calling it a good decision……
…..although now the wickets are falling…..
Is my increasingly dodgy memory playing up again or in the olden days would these wickets where the batsman edges or cuts onto his own stumps have been recorded as ‘played on’ rather than ‘bowled’ in the distant past?
Looked it up and you are right - it’s a description of how the wicket fell, but recorded as bowled.I don't recall that being the case.
Great cricket.Brilliant win for England and a great Test match.
Meanwhile, away from cricket nostalgia, Windies bowl out Aussies for 180 on first day of Bridgetown test, get to 57-4 themselves. There’s been a change at the southern end, with Lillee coming back on to join Thompson in the bowling attack…. I wish.
