The wicket has become a road, batting looking easy and bowling a real strain. Ideally we could just keep batting and set them 450, but surely we know about the possibility of rain the last 2 days ! If rain denies us again then they'll be no doubting this would be the luckiest and most boring un Australian side in history !
So possibly 80-90 overs over the 2 days. Hopefully any poor weather aids us in getting the 10 wickets and spices up the pitch a bit. Uncanny how rain over the last 2 days of the last 2 tests would favour Australia both times !
Root denied what would've been another superb ton. Looking at that spin, Ali will be a big loss in their 2nd innings. Hopefully Root can extract the necessary turn !

Broad announces he's retiring from cricket at the end of this game ! Wow, he's gonna be sorely missed. One of the greatest bowlers I've ever had the pleasure to watch, I'll never forget several of his spells especially against Australia where he looked like getting a wicket with every ball. All the best for the future Stuart and thanks for the memories !
What a day....389 runs and Broad announcing his retirement..... just need him and Jimmy to get 5 fers tomorrow and I think we could file this series as one of the great series..... 2-2 still wouldn't feel right but would at least be a reflection of how well England have played and the fact that they played to win from the outset in contrast to the aussies approach......
