Good example of "Spirit of the Game" according to Bairstow and his teammates.Quick clip of Mr Bairstow waiting a few seconds before stumping a batsman not trying to gain an advantage. This one reported as quick thinking.

Keep your powder dry for the Leeds Test Ozzie.Right back at ya Col...
Agreed Ozzie, but no matter what you type, I don't think that's going to change anyone's opinion here.
You'll be typing 'til you blue in the fingers.
One thing you can say for sure and that's what happened was within the rules. The rules written by hmm, ...that's right, the same ilk as those calling out "cheat, cheat, cheat".
Is irony an apt term here?

.............. and the very person given out, has done this numerous times themselves, funny that.
Glass houses are dotted throughout the landscape.
Put aside who did it, who has done it before, what match it was in, the rules etc. Do you think this kind of dismissal is good for the game and within its spirit*?Certainly can see the difference. This time it went against you.
Certainly made the news reports of England's second loss in two games more interestingPut aside who did it, who has done it before, what match it was in, the rules etc. Do you think this kind of dismissal is good for the game and within its spirit*?
*personally I think the ‘spirit’ of cricket disappeared many years ago, but that’s not the point.
Fair enough. I don’t take an ethical view on it but I think it’s a shame it happened as it has distracted from a great series. The atmosphere at Headingley today will be poisonous and I get enough of that at Loftus Road.Sorry Sb I maybe didn't answer your question. No I don't have a problem with the dismissal. To me there is no difference between what happened and a stumping to a slow bowler. He knew the guy was taking the piss leaving his crease early and took advantage of it. The same way I don't have a problem with the Bairstow wicket when he waited around 3 seconds for the batsman to lift his foot and then stumped him. Until the ball is called dead don't leave your crease. Hope that clarifies it.
See England have made 3 changes, out are Anderson/Tongue(very harsh) & pope injured, Woakes/Wood & Ali come in & Brook up to bat at 3
First I’ve heard of women and kids being abused. Sounds odd.Fair enough Sb. I'm not a fan of what the crowd did and reports of women and young kids being abused by grown men is unacceptable. But it has been inflamed by the remarks from the England players and they really should be trying to calm things down rather than fan the flames.
