This is turning into a nightmare. 83-5 has turned into 306-9 ffs. Leach was utter turd and Broad has been unusually poor. Blundell has played magnificently and put us right under it. Now we've had their number 11 caught behind but given not out. 1 review left but Stokes doesn't use it ffs. Why on earth wouldn't you use it now ? Gonna have to bat under the lights with the new ball moving too. Gonna be seriously difficult and I don't fancy Crawley's chances
Kiwi's have helped us out big time here, bowling short cuttable deliveries and both Duckett and Crawley have got off to a flier ! Keep bowling there lol

**** it, Duckett gone caught at slip. 52-1, lead of 71. Crawley has to get a biggie now he's in. We can't be more than 2 down at the close, hopefully it'll be just the 1. Got to bat until tomorrow's dinner break at least and have them batting late on again tomorrow.
Already a lead of 86 for just the one wicket. If we are still batting at tea tomorrow lead will be over 400 which u would hope is enough

Until Pope becomes another one to throw his wicket away ! Their bowling attack without Boult, Henry and Jameson is very weak. Southee is world class but the rest we should be just accumulating runs off easily. I do love our new style but with the position of the game and the time left we don't need to be so reckless. We can go along at 4-5 an over and be 300+ infront by the time the lights come on. We'd be in a seriously strong position !
Ffs Root,what are you doing playing that shot the over before the break ? Jeez, no need at all. Let them right back into it now with that dismissal, we need to get 350 ahead and not have them batting before dusk. Strong possibility of not getting that target now and them getting to bat before the lights are on. Despite this great new strategy by us, there has to be times when you use your head to see out certain situations. Root has the experience to have realised thst was one such circumstance !
Goodness me, Stokes almost falls for the bouncer trick like Pope. Pulls first one for 6 and next ball repeats the shot. Caught at long leg but the fielder falls over the rope taking the catch lol. Almost the same as Boult in the World Cup final when he stood on the rope completing the catch. Stokes really doesn't have to take these bouncers on, could use his head and bat us into an impregnable position, but you know he's going to. Gonna be entertaining but could end badly for us !
