Was Overton’s bowling not good enough for him to retain his place? His batting wasn’t too shabby….
Anderson was back from injury, so had to come back in. Potts couldn't be left out, so dropping Broad was the only other option. I think I might have left Broad out.

Poor decision to give Potts out & looked like it hit the ground first, benifit of doubt should’ve gone to batsman

I missed the spat, what happened? Saw Kohli blow him a kiss when he got out and thought much the same as you though. Hopefully he'll get another low score 2nd innings and look a bit silly.
That’s a couple of innings in a row Stokes has played like a muppet. He’s got a gold plated excuse for it with the ‘new aggressive style’ but it’s still stupid.
Broad been too short again, got to pitch it up to get your rewards on this wicket just like India did.
I maintain that, although Stokes is a fantastic cricketer, I reckon he's not always the brightest.
He's a much better batsman than bowler and is far too good to just slog mindlessly.
More clueless bowling to Pant, its like we haven't seen him play before ! You need to bowl fast bouncers at head high to him, if you don't have the bowlers fast enough to do that then you hang it out at 5th stump but not ****ing half way down the wicket !
3rd ball change already ! The Duke ball always used to last the best of any balls yet this summer they seem to have deteriorated at an alarming rate. We had the last one swinging alot too
Billings looks a very poor wicketkeeper.
Good to see that happen to the delightful Kohli though.
An hour of Pant in the morning and the game will be out of our reach I fear. With no need to win the game, they can keep batting till we bowl them out and that could well leave us 450 to 500 to chase in minimal time. Against their bowling attack and on a wicket with changing bounce that might just be beyond us unfortunately.
He's a very good keeper, but probably not Test standard. Strange decision to give him another go as he plainly wouldn't keep the gloves when Foakes is fit. The obvious thing would have been to give them to Bairstow and give Brook a chance with the bat.
