Root solid as rock today but doesn’t seem to last long the day after a big innings! Let’s hope I’m wrong & carries his momentum into tomorrow, great test match though

England are strong favourites from this position (1-4 with the bookies), but it could all be down to Root. After the two currently at the crease, we've effectively got two number 10s and two number 11s. One of them might need to step up.

Which is why I call it 50/50.
If Root goes early, I don't fancy us.
 
I have a doctor's appointment at 12, which is rather inconvenient. I might well miss the conclusion to the game.

A great start for the new regime and Captain.
England were super positive this morning, which has McCullum's prints all over it.

Thanks, it's nothing serious. Phoned for an appointment in the week and they offered me an emergency appointment today. I actually said, 'Well it's not an emergency, I don't want to take an appointment away from someone in greater need', but they insisted. The doctor looked about 10 years older than me, so is presumably retired and just helping out.

Back to the cricket, a superb innings from Root and a comfortable win in the end. Told ya! :emoticon-0100-smile

Where's moany old Hammersmith?
