This day's play shows why Test cricket is dying a slow death in some countries....... The pitch is so slow that a Number 10 has time to take on the short ball every now and then...... The pitch isn't helping either the bowlers or the batters and at the moment neither side are in a position to force the win......... mind being 60 odd ahead England are likely to be at least 4 down by the time they knock off those runs.......
England's bowling unit look very one paced without Wood who's now injured again........ Lawrence on for a bowl and in 2 balls has got more turn than Leach has in 30 odd overs........
Yep, excellent from Crawley and Root. This is a shocker of a test wicket, the Windies should be fined for it, disgraceful. Nailed on draw with our bowling attack even if Wood can bowl, no assistance or breaking up of the pitch to help us.
Ah where would we be without the traditional England collapse? Gone from 295/2 to 320/6....... I'm all for playing the shots to attempt to force a result but not at the potential cost of losing the game.....England 250 odd ahead and still 75 overs left to play today.......
Leach has bowled well 2nd innings, but game meandering to a draw.... England will be pleased on getting beyond 300 twice but ultimately the pitch was not conducive to a positive result...
Two more debutants for England in the 2nd test, with Mahmood and Fisher coming in for Wood and Overton. Good to see that Archer is out there getting back to fitness. Oh, how we miss Jofra.
England win the toss and bat. I reckon we'll get 400.
