I said before I'd like Alec Stewart to be involved in some capacity but I don't know whether he'd make a good head coach. To me they need to separate the roles, have one man in charge of the test team and another in charge for the white ball formats. There's just too much cricket now for 1 man to oversee and flourish, whoever is given the test role has a hell of a job on his hands.

I heard a whisper about Ricky Ponting taking over the coaching.
Be hard to go wrong there although l'm not personally for it.

I don't like the thought of an Aussie assisting the English to win an Ashes series .......... and visa versa.

It's like a American helping the Russians to get one up on the Americans.
Doesn't fit right with me.
To me, all countries should build their own establishments, that way they keep their ideas to themselves.
That creates new ideas that others haven't heard of and visa versa.

If we share everything, everybody plays the same .............. and that becomes boring.
Just my two bobs worth.

You've brought it on yourselves if we have ! Can't quite believe that you've forced him into resigning, do you not remember the ****storm he took over from ? Reigning T20 Champions and just hammered us 4-0 in the Ashes, utter madness. It will serve you lot right if we get him and absolutely muller you in the next Ashes and retain the World Cup !

It won't do you any good.
We dropped for a reason.
He has a limited shelf life.
He's done good but put a few off side.
If he's goes your way, it illustrates everything l said previously that was wrong about feeding the opposition with knowledge.
It won't benefit the future of the game, long term.

There always have to be areas for improvement, curling has some potential growth opportunities.

Agreed,
We can’t be brilliant at everything.
We won the Ashes so we’re more than content.

Have to change the heading of this thread, but time for a bump as first test against West Indies in Antigua starts in little over half an hour.........

See how many scars England have from the Australia tour............
