Having only watched highlights and tail ends of days play, I hadn't realised that there seems to be a new trend for some of our batsmen to take an off stump guard. This clearly explains why they're playing at so many deliveries that are around 6-8 stump wide.
Although Root doesn't do this and he's snicking off a lot too.
Woakes now out to the thinnest of tiny nicks, invisible to the naked eye.
All too familiar as England reach 182-8.

I said before I want Billings and Livingstone in the side, these are the type of players we need. But they have to be given time to adjust to Test cricket. Its not gonna happen overnight but they have the mentality and talent we are lacking, if they're given half as much chance as some of the dross that's come recently then they will make excellent Test players in my eyes !
 
Fantastic spell of hostility from Wood this afternoon, 3 quick wickets and give England a sniff. He's been my standout player for England this series, if only some of tge others had his spirit and will to give 100 % every single second he's out there. Huh, just as I'm writing Woakes bowls Carey. Off a no ball ! Ffs to the bitter end we **** ourselves. The lead is 212 now and that's almost certainly too many with our batting. Needed to wrap up their innings quickly, but that looks ****ed after that no ball now ! Same old ****
 
Were 234 in the lead now with three wickets left, perhaps with a bit of luck we could possibly get to 300 in the lead but maybe 250 will be enough if England bat as they have done to date.

A bit of luck ffs , Carey's been out 3 times and Cummins was given out 1st ball ! How much luck do you want ? You don't honestly expect us to get anywhere near 200 do you ffs ?
 
270 to win, I think I heard it would be our biggest chase ever to win in Australia ! Can we at least make it exciting, there's 58 overs left today. Let's at least last that lol. Come on Burns, a ton to win the test and save your career, you know it makes sense !

Actually 271 that one run could be all the difference
 
In this situation on this wicket I wish we had Bairstow and Buttler. I'd send them out to open and say play it like a 1 day chase, do what Head did in the 1st innings and attack the bowling and try and get as many as yiu can quickly. There's a ball with your number on , on this wicket
