Update -

Australia are ALL OUT for 152.

Over 16: England 4-62

Haven't been watching tbh but seems like its been interesting, to say the least.

Wow, Aussie batting second innings already on Day 1 of trhe test.
Bolond survives last ball by hitting a four.
England 46 runs behind on first innings.
Stumps.

In this upside down world, Test innings are shorter than in one-day games.
Having watched the ‘highlights’ there were some pathetic shots played but the pitch was doing way too much for a balanced bat v ball contest.

Should actually be an advantage batting last on this strip.

To lose our top four batsmen for 16 runs is England's tour in a nutshell. Our batting has been abysmal and the end of tour averages will be some of the worst ever. Back to the drawing board after this shambles is over...

Both very old teams, Sooper ......... the future holds many aces.

Interesting article on BBC website suggesting the Groundsman was focussing heavily on creating a playable pitch for days 3,4 & 5. By lengthening the grass to 10mm, the pitch will suffer for the first days.

Batting last should be an advantage. Not getting bowled out in 2-hours may also help.

Dread to think what the score will be when I wake up tomorrow morning.... probably find that Boland has scored 100+.....
Grim all round

Good morning session for England, Aussies 98-6 at lunch with some excellent bowling but Atkinson is crocked with a hamstring problem so all three of our main strike bowlers now failed to last the course. Aussies 140 ahead which on this pitch might already be enough. Another two day test looking likely...
