Wasn’t a great match as Middlesex were awful but yeah I’ll go again for the quarter-final in a few weeks. Nice little ground. One outrageously good catch for one of the early Middlesex wickets was about as good as it got. It’s nice you can just potter about and get views from different parts of the ground.
Tied for the lead but think Horschel has a very short birdie putt to go back ahead. Probably my favourite golf day of the year unless there’s a very close Ryder Cup.
Sad news ............... it would seem that Geoffrey Boycott is on his last legs, unable to eat or drink, due to cancer. A polarising figure indeed but a very good leader and cricketer in his day.
For those in need of a cricket fix today, Ireland are playing a Test against Zimbabwe at Stormont today, the first ever Test Match to be played in Northern Ireland..... Ireland won toss and are bowling with the wonderfully named Prince Masavaure and Joylord Gumbie opening for Zimbabwe.....
No, having to do some work, just following on beeb text..... might be on fawanews.com otherwise known as steely+ as they seem to cover every sport that moves....
The Hundred is back! Yay. Manchester Originals heading for a record low total in the first innings of the competition. At home. Against Welsh ‘Fire’.
The thing is, I'll watch it because I love cricket, but 20/20 was OK as the crash bang wallop format. We didn't need another one.
A hundred balls is a bit much. Can we just do one over per team? Get the whole tournament done in an evening.
Ireland bowled Zimbabwe out for 210 from 71 overs yesterday before rain stopped play ......Ireland started their innings this morning and are 115/2 off 25 overs at lunch on day 2, a healthy 4.6 runs per over, a decent attempt at Bazball....... England take 3 quick wickets before lunch to undo the Windies decent first hour.....
