Surely Sir Cheatalot would be more appropriate !

C’om, C’om…. Smith mimicked captains from all countries with his ball tampering efforts, they all do it.

Unlike the others, he was stupid enough to admit it and then to pour petrol onto the fire, he then preceded to document everything, silly boy.

Smith is an excellent cricketer and will continue to be a valued member of the team.

I admit Warner can be a polarising figure but it people like him, that makes test cricket all the more interesting. If he bats well, he’ll stick it to you, if he fails, you guys will stick it to him….. all good stuff. It was a bit like that with Tony Greig, Botham, Tefnell and alike. All great cricketers but we loved it when they failed.

The forecast here in Queensland and east coast Australia, is that we are experiencing a La Nina weather pattern, so l’m not sure when we are going see a full five day test match.

The best thing about Botham was he very rarely failed against the Aussies, the guy simply lived to batter them lol. I'll never forget Kim Hughes' interview where he talked about Beefy, bloody hilarious and typically open. Kim Hughes was a thoroughly decent bloke ! For an Aussie :emoticon-0105-wink:

It's a shame it's not 6 tests anymore like it used to be back in the day.

True that.
Pity we won't be able to get a win in Tasmania as well! ( he said tongue in cheek )

That looks wrong for some reason. Didn’t the Perth Test match always used to be second in the series, which finished in Sydney? I know the Boxing Day test is always at the MCG. I hear Bay 13 has now been totally emasculated.

Given the Aussie response to the virus, what are the odds on playing this series in empty grounds? I see the new variant has arrived with you lot……

This update from the British papers ……

England men’s Ashes tour of Australia will begin on 8 December in Brisbane and, for the first time since 1994-95, the final Test will be held in Perth.

The second Test will be a day-nighter in Adelaide (16-20 December) before the traditional Melbourne Boxing Day Test (26-30 December).

Sydney will host the fourth Test (5-9 January), before a potential decider at Perth’s Optus Stadium (14-18 January).

Day/nighter in Adelaide ffs. Expect the high score in that test to be pretty low then, could be some serious swing about if they're using the pink ball !

This whole series is becoming a bit of a chore. Everything seems to be up in the air, there's a possibility the 5th test could be played in Melbourne as a day/night test or back to back tests in Sydney !

Potential decider........who are they kidding<laugh>

Western Australia seem to think they are a separate country and operate as such.

State leaders are hell bent on asserting there own rules and are making it up as they go along.

There is so much rain & water here in Queensland, we now make Holland look like a desert area.

Please send over your Water Polo team.

2nd day of 2nd warm up game washed out again. This is fast becoming a bit of a farce, gonna go into the opening test completely unprepared if it's not rained off !

Tickets finally acquired for the family outing to Boxing Day. In the MCC Reserve. Should be 85-90,000 in for it, unless the new variant shuts us down. Fifth test could be in Melbourne too if WA make it too hard to hold it in Perth.
That’s a brilliant day out. The best in cricket, I think. Very jealous.

Especially if England have a good day.
