Stokes 1 hundred in last 18 months and just 3 since 2019. Can hardly bowl because of his crocked knee and nowhere near top pace when he does and so many no balls. If he wasn't captain and chief of Bazball, would he be in the 11 ? His form with the bat has dropped dramatically since Bazball and just looks so out of touch.

The biggest thing is the Aussie attack has the ability to bowl bouncers at 90mph from 3 or 4 different bowlers, including their all rounder. Without Wood or Archer we have no one who can reach those speeds. We'd still need the Aussies to be braindead to try the sane approach , when they know they don't have to !

I think his loss of form has a lot to do with the Bazball mindset. How often has he slogged his wicket away?
Plus the pressure of continually stating how hard we're going to attack no matter what, along with the building criticism since THAT declaration, must be taking its toll mentally.
