Stokes's captaincy was praised by Ponting for always seeking to do what the opposition wouldn't want you to do. What you describe is proper, hard nosed aggressive test match cricket.
We can probably beat most sides playing kamikaze cricket, but Australia are just too good and streetwise imo.
