From an Aussie point of view…..

  • Great to see Travis Head hit a ton in a session ( first ever at the Gabba )
  • The English players really have had no luck.
  • Things tend to turn around and even out when least expected though.
  • When we had no video refs, the umpire seems to get it right, nowadays, we have a squillion referees but somehow, they can miss 4 consecutive no balls!

****ing hell, just seen the score. That’s some going, must have been fun/painful to watch.

sb, it was a long day in the outfield for you guys.
As l mentioned, you certainly had no luck.
Warner, whether people like him or not, is a decent batsman and you can't give a quality bat a chance or two
Stokes is injured and bowled four consecutive no balls in the over he got Warner. That's unheard of.

Don't think l've seen a greener pitch for some time.
There is a lot of moisture around, which will help the bowlers but the only thing that will hamper you guys are injuries and you've certainly got some.

I watched it at various intervals throughout the day and of course, enjoyed what l saw but as l mentioned previously, things have a way
of evening out so no one at this stage, is a sure bet ................ for what it's worth, that's my take on it.

If day 1 was bad, day 2 was even worse........

Might as well write this one off and look to Adelaide and hope the day/night format might work in England's favor............ This really is clutching at straws......

How ****ing **** are we?!!

A perfect example of getting almost everything wrong in the first two days of the first test in an Ashes series.
Wrong selections.
Wrong decision to bat.
Poor skill sets (Warner was missed 3 times for ****'s sake).

****ing terrible.

Well played the openers, made it through to lunch. 23-0 off 8 overs. A few scares and excellent bowling again from their 3 but that's a given. Hazlewood is just relentless , at some stage in this series someone is gonna have to take a risk and go after him. Just so metronomic, got to try and put him off his line and length

There's no real intent to score from these 2, just allowing Lyon to settle into a line and length. 5hey went after Leach tge moment he came on and put him right out of his comfort zone. Use your feet and hit him over the top, Hamned has the unhappy knack of always hitting the fiekder and Malan looks scared to death. Not quite sure Malan is up to this
