Poor shot from Burns, playing against the spin and nightwatchman Leach goes straight away.
50-3.
Root and Lawrence together now.

Seems that the Indians can bat ok in the second innings on this ‘sub standard’ pitch.

They're clearly much more accustomed to this kind of dust bowl.
Pitches have always been prepared to suit home teams and in fact, we've been far too accommodating on this front, apart from the odd time as you pointed out.
It isn't a great watch when either the bowlers or batsmen are favoured too much.

Yeah, it’s not a great spectacle and I would much prefer a less extreme pitch, but I hate the very fast moves to condemn it from commentators and ex players, who were having a go on the first morning. As we have noticed, one team has done ok on it, just seems like being poor losers.

A good result for us would be one of this pair, or preferably both, hanging around and getting a decent score, to show it can be done.

Root got away with one there.

England win the toss and bat in the third Test. Anderson, Archer, Crawley and Bairstow back in the side, which should be positive.

Day- night, pink ball, dew factor - who knows how this will go?
