Stokes is out on his feet in the 40 degrees heat.
Game and series slipping away here.
Everything depends on Anderson with the new ball, unless the old one will reverse.

We're bowling really poorly now and look spent.
Should we have selected another seamer instead of Bess?
Pant totally destroying England now.

I don’t think Moeen is a great spinner but he’s better than Bess. I know they play a lot of cricket nowadays and perhaps players do need a rest, and doubtless the selectors are mindful of the breakdowns that players like Trescothick and Trott have suffered on tours, but the rotation policy definitely weakens us and reduces the value of the games, in my opinion. I’d like us to have an explicit sense of priorities. For me it would always be Test cricket, but if it’s short format we want to (continue) to be really good at, fine, as long as that is open and transparent.

A few of these ‘rested’ players will manage to pick up the cheque in the IPL. I don’t blame them, it’s their pension, but you wonder how they would have coped with months away on an old fashioned, there and back by boat, tour of Oz. For virtually no money.

Anyway, we’re doing ok here, unless Pant goes nuts again.

I think the England management have one eye on the 20/20 World Cup - which is in India later in the year - so may not be at all unhappy about players signing up for the IPL.

Oh, and Pant has gone nuts, taking the game away from England.

We went into this series with a chance (slim to be fair) of making the WCT final at Lords this summer. I notice that this has got hardly any press, I assume because we weren’t very optimistic about our chances.

Pretty pathetic how we crumble, our spinners are ****e as well, brought in the xtra one for this test & seamers have taken most wickets

Well done for taking this to the third day England!

Struggling to think of the positives from this tour.

Apparently England have now have 71 consecutive batting partnerships without a single pair getting 50 between them.

111/8

Lose by an innings and 25. Hopefully we don’t just blame the pitches, and take a good look at our batting.

Really all rather embarrassing.
India are the best test side in the world and we have no top class spinners. Bess is just not cut out for test cricket it seems.
Players like Bairstow, Stokes and the openers look totally out of touch with the bat and there's no doubt that our irritating rotation policy has seriously hindered us.
Well done Lawrence, who at least looked like a batsman of some quality.

Oh....

And I really hope we hammer them in the one dayers, with the same irritating commentators on air.
