Root is a very average captain imo. These fields are allowing too much rotation of the strike.
We need to stay in the game so that it's still in the balance when they bat last.

Stokes was entertaining.
It rarely lasts too long when players attack every ball.

England need to keep scoring very quickly as they need as much time as possible to win this game.

I'd be bowling well before tea.
 
157 runs in 27 overs....taken the game away from SA...

According to tms the bug that went through the England side last week has now affected the SA side.....so bat for another half hour and whack another 50 to drain their bowlers a bit more and then declare with 4 and half sessions to bowl them out....

I take that means they are literally sh*tting themselves... :grin:
 
Shame we didn’t declare a few runs later. It’s been over 30 test innings since England posted a total of 400 or over.
 
5 wickets to get and about 40 overs to get them. Root and Denly bowling.

Tense, but top order has all gone, England should do it with room to spare.
