Sibley gone now. I hope he proves me wrong, but I'm not sure he can make it as a Test player. He looks like he can only play one side of the wicket.

Who's the alternative? From what I read he sound's like the man for the job. I don't know enough about county cricket to suggest otherwise.

I don't know either, mate. Hard to see Sibley being the answer from tonight's evidence, though.

I thought he looked alright. 61/1 at lunch is OK. He'll learn and it's something to build on. Burns has done Ok and I can't see us getting another Pieterson in our lifetime ... sadly.

240/4 at close......Could be described as a proper days test cricket....lays a decent foundation for England to push on towards a score that will put pressure on the NZ batsmen....

Was thinking what a nice looking ground it is and then a wide angle shot shows what looks like an oil refinery in the background...…

Pitch looks very flat......what ball are they using the Dukes or Kookabura…….anyone know?

Only 9 runs added in first 10 overs tonight....England keeping it tight but no breakthrough....NZ lead by 50....

NZ have batted England out of this match, best we can get now is a draw. What we don't want is a typical top order collapse when we bat again...

Well and truly batted into the ground, a very tough final day in prospect, NZ looking almost certain winners unless our key batsmen show the same level of patience as NZ did...
