We are in trouble here.
After inserting the Aussies they're 108 - 2 and racing along on nearly 4 an over.
With Smith not playing, these 2 are their best two batsman I reckon and Warner is batting himself into form.

Stokes not bowling great.

Archer doesn't look quite right and his pace is well down compared to the last test.
If our bowling doesn't improve right now, the ashes could be almost gone.

The England bowling performance is as gloomy as the weather......

Not what we were hoping for after putting them into bat....this could be Roots Naser Hussain moment <doh>

Brilliant again from Archer - 6-45.
All out for 179.
How much that poor hour after tea will cost England remains to be seen.
Could have been a fair few less.

Still, get a decent lead now and we're right back in the series.

Archer bowled well, in difficult batting conditions and 2 or 3 of our batters just didn't really turn up. Unfortunately the batting conditions are set to improve on day 2. We are probably about 70 runs short of where we would have hoped to be and so we will have to bowl accurately tomorrow and keep the score down, hopefully getting many wickets along the way.

A very good last hour has given England hope after a very shaky period after tea.....the weather spoilt the days play but forecast is for better over the next few days so England really need to apply themselves and bat sensibly.....any lead of over 100 runs would put them in pole position despite having to bat last on a pitch that's expected to spin.....

Get a lead of 180 and we won't need to bat again at all.

Aussies doing an England collapse, 136-2 to 179-9 great stuff

I think a lot of that was down to me. I watched the first session laying down on my couch and two early wickets fell. For the most part of the day I watched it in my dining room and not a lot happened. I then walked the dog and came home and had pie, chips and beans. I said to the missus that I needed a little lie down and went to the lounge and layed on the couch ...

Warner went ...

Quickly followed by Head and Wade ...

and then it wasn't long before Paine said cheerio ...

Swiftly followed by Pattinson ...

Then Cummings said toodles ( I don't think he knicked it. )

And after Labuschagne got out with a bizzarre LBW, the despicable Lyon quickly followed.

It was me on the couch that created havoc :emoticon-0136-giggl

Nothing to do with Jofra then?

I'm having to make do with Test Match Special as we're in Spain. Could hardly have picked a worse time to be away - as well as the cricket, I'm missing three homes games, and we're only here for 8 days!

Similar here, I'm off to Ibiza on Monday so I'll miss a couple of games and the end of the test match if it goes to five days.
