Has anyone seen England's wheels? A great start and opportunity has been missed here by a capitulation by the middle order. This strength in depth in our batting line-up is a myth.
Seems like the wicket has slowed up as the day's gone on. Several caught at mid-off as the ball sticks in the pitch. Hopefully NZ will find it as difficult as we have in the last 20.
They have made a right Horlicks of that should have been nearer 400 not 300 cant see that being enough
the pitch has slowed right down, but we do need a quick wicket or two! (Hark at me saying all this knowingful things...shows you what mixing with cricketers has done for me. Yes I am volunteering again at Lords, and I have met an awful lot of people who know so much about cricket...to be honest mainly Indians and Pakistanis...they breathe cricket)
Anything above 300 is a challenging target...bowlers should be good enough to defend that.... A couple of quick wickets would be welcome
The luck is with England as Williamson is adjudged to have been run out backing up. It could only have been the faintest touch of bowler Wood's finger. Harsh.
72/4 we're in a great position now. A disciplined bowling and fielding performance should see us over the line.
The commentators on tv have just said something interesting. If England win today they go into the semi finals having played 2 must win games. The other 3 teams haven’t had to feel that pressure yet and that may help England in the knockout stage.
Net run rate looking like a flawed measure, not encouraging NZ to do anything other than hang around and edge towards 180. Why not whoever won the head to head if they are level on points. Or which team has hit the most sixes in the tournament?
If they gave it to whichever team has the highest world ranking, it would give a little more meaning to that measure and all the hundreds of one-day internationals played.
