It's all about opinions Tees but I reckon Flanagan for all his faults, is a better defender than McFadzean and Vokins and Hume is more of a wingback, so to me it depends whether Johnson plays a back four or a back three.

I agree he's better defensively. He'd get totally skinned for pace though playing at fullback.

Thankfully it's not our decision Tees, but it is an area that needs sorting out. I hope you are right about Vokins though.

The ultimate. Real world poor as a defender, but a superb footballer.

There’s a lad at Benfica as well called Grimaldo, he’s utterly ridiculous with the ball, delivery and linking play, absolutely atrocious defender.

    Its a changing game.

Exactly this. We were truly awful today yet still ended the day better off than we started it. Onwards and upwards.

If only we could play a back 4 of Flanagan, Willis, wright and Sanderson. Both Flanagan and Sanderson can play as full backs.

Elmo is playing for a Villa side who are aiming for Europe ...

... the same player most supporters here couldn't wait to get rid of.

    PVA is another.

There was one change from the previous winning team mate ....

    .... hardly a decimation.

Like listening to him and like how he is trying to play the game
For me he needs to learn again from today. Although a lot of players didn't turn up I Think he was a bit naive in how he set us up
We were light in midfield against a team who overload the midfield and move the ball quickly
Against Doncaster he went back to a 3 in the middle and we were outstanding.

If he's got a fault its thinking the players are better than they are.
Sometimes you just need to cut your cloth a bit.
Really think he's on the right track just maybe trying to push things a bit quickly with some players who aren't quite up to it

I’ve been his biggest critic this season, but Lee Burge has looked like a proper keeper these last few games. Commanded his box very well today. His decision making is suspect at times, but he’s looked solid. Feel a lot more confident with him between the sticks now.

Some teams above didn't even manage that mate, despite being given two penalties in three minutes.

The next generation of managers will counter all this sort of stuff. We will end up going full circle with 6 up front, outside lefts, inside rights and all sorts. Wait till Foden is City manager and Rashford is Man Utd manager. :emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0104-surpr<cheers>

Tends to be fairly standard give the team first ten or fifteen minutes see how things go if no change then give the subs the opportunity = still time to get back in to the game . We did pull it out of the fire same as other clubs , Crewe are one of the best home sides in the league so a draw is a welcome result particularly given our first half performance .
