Yes, he was allowed to make bids for some top strikers, but he didn't land them did he. In fact it made us look bad. Thats the difference because these excellent new signings that are running out onto the pitch at AG now are real, not imagined, and they have arrived since the advent of this new set up (one which I was very cynical about when it was first announced).
