    You are correct there was a northern Irishman called...Derek Spence who turned out for the shaker's in the 70's and he did have golden locks he was a forward quite decent<cool> it looks like he could be yer man:emoticon-0150-hands can't vouch if he was a teacher!!

    Don’t think that’s the same bloke Old School, although the connection with Shaks is that he ran his own off-licences <whistle> in Bury after he finished playing.

    As most of that great team were at Leeds from a young age, and being the ultra-professionals they were, they’d have probably bought into the Bielsa philosophy no questions asked, and gone on to even greater success than they did.

    But as Bielsa would’ve been about 10 years old at the time they’d probably have told him to **** off <laugh>

    No the lad you are talking about was from Northern Ireland, this fella had a broad manc accent and was definitely Spencer not Spence. I'll do some more digging..he might not have played for the first team.<ok>

    Oh well...perhaps it was Frank Spencer then:emoticon-0110-tongu but quite a few famous names have turned out for the shaker's not least the great Bobby Collins,and Jermaine Beckford plus others aka Terry McDermott,Colin bell,Alec Lindsay, Neville Southall, lee Dixon, Sammy McIlroy,ray pointer and the greatest of them all harpal Singh....yep the Asian Eddie gray:emoticon-0130-devil
