It was exciting stuff, though, be fair Mark.

One in a series of excellent matches on the tv this season.

Just like many Saints fans were posting you'd have an easy home win against Wigan just a few weeks back ?? Would you like me to remind you what happened ??

    Southampton 0-2 Wigan.

In all fairness, talking about crowd attendances/noise, when watching your game v Manchester United, and ours against Bournemouth, both sets of supporters performed well. I was particuarly impressed with the Saints fans, in the way they got behind their team, whether they were winning or losing- unlike other Prem/former Prem teams, i.e Blackburn e.t.c ..

SB3 was last seen standing at the side of the A27 with his thumb out. He apparently arrived at Hilsea station at precisely 6:57, just in time to see the train exiting at the end of the platform.

The pub accross the road from me is playing it (I finish work half way through the first half <diva>) so it's on the box alright. Probably Sky as I doubt the Nilesat or Nova sports channels will show a League One match.

I read on another thread that Pompey's away allocation sold out ages ago. I don't know how many that is though.

Capacity is 4996, so it can't be more than about 500 I would guess.

It's one of those conundrums for the Crawley board. Do they open up another area for Pompey and guarantee a full house or do they leave it and hope the Crawley fans fill the ground anyway.

I remember the Promotion party in 1983. Our final game was away to Plymouth and the crowd of just over 14,000 included over 10,000 Pompey fans. Pompey had the Devonport [home] end swell as the Barn Park [away end], while the 3-4,000 Argyle fans milled about in the wide open spaces of the Lyndhurst and Mayflower stands.

That was the game where people painted (blue) Pompey graffiti on sheep in the fields, leading down to Plymouth if memory serves me right.

...and, unfortunately some went too far and sprayed blue paint on the War Memorial on the Hoe. It's the one time I felt gravely ashamed to be a Pompey fan

I didn't know about that, shame on them. I mean the sheep thing was hi jinx, funny due to it's originality, like the famous bicycle day, but hardly crime of the century, but graffiti on a war memorial is a disgrace.

Away allocation is 1600 max. Strange thing is the rest of the terrace which we are situated in part was not open to home or away fans, as I tried to buy tickets for that zone.

People abusing a minute's silence was some-thing that was becoming more and more apparent in recent years. Fortunately that has been overcome by replacing it with a minute's applause for such occasions.
