"I for one will not be reading or buying the Daily Record again and I'm sure many other Rangers fans will share my disgust at yet another smear on this football club". That's just classic
What's happened to the warchest and the money he SPECIFICALLY said would be for transfers? Which company of his financed the takeover? Which 10% (in Whyte's view) of the Daly documentary was true? How has media coverage of the transfer window been "hysterical" in a negative way when the DR have linked Rangers with players they clearly were never going to get? This guy is a gift
The Ibrox chief has denied all allegations of wrongdoing and accused the BBC of "muckraking". Last night, a spokesman for Whyte said: "Mr Whyte strenuously refutes these unfounded and defamatory allegations and has instructed his lawyers, Carter Ruck, to commence immediate legal proceedings against the BBC." Before the show, a statement, from Whyte and Rangers FC said: "As a result of the BBC's approach, Mr Whyte and Rangers FC believe there is a strong risk that the programme will mislead and misinform viewers about matters concerning the club, and have suspended the BBC's access to the club." ------------------------------ Yesterday afternoon, news broke that Rangers had banned The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times over reporting of the club’s legal bill case. ------------------------------------------------ Now it's the Record who are out to get him?
I'm not going to suddenly start believing the Record as gospel. They had Whyte down as a billionaire a year ago, now he's a crook selling the family jewels. At least one version must, by definition, be completely wrong - it's comically poor journalism. That said, Whyte is utterly unconvincing. Surely you Rangers fans can't be impressed with his dealings? He's evasive, apparently capable only of empty promises and entirely reactive, never pro-active, in his dealings with the press and fans. His continuing stance that everyone is out to smear Rangers is frankly embarrassing. I would not trust this man to run my club.
At least he's standing up for himself. Traynor's article was utter tripe. If this tax case wasnt looming over us these side stories here and there wouldnt even make the paper. The fact the traynor has made a 5 page spread about whyte clearly shows he dislikes the man who sacked all of his bum chums
A personal view by David Leggat Now we can clearly see the full scale of the forces lined up in this heinous attack on Rangers FC by the cowardly hand of previously hidden foces. The BBC, The Glasgow Herald and now the Daily Record. Truly an Anti Protestant cabal, nowadays, only the staunch STV brethren can be trusted to spread the good word about how everything is fine, nothing to see here, move along. Let there be no doubt that these - once august - institutions now have it in for Rangers, chock full of taigs and Rangers haters the lot of them. Twas not always the way though, in the past we could rely on these once trustworthy allies of Orangeism to toe the party line and add more spin to any potentially damaging story than the Glasgow fair Waltzers. But those days are past, the PC brigade have made it a crime to ask a potential employee "what school did you go to?".
Still no cracked crest though , we got that after getting beat in a friendly!!! What's the rumours about the police being called to be at Ibrox tomorrow ?? Another dose of Whyte ramblings
People were calling Whyte a crook and a shyster before he even set foot inside Ibrox. The fact that hardly anyone knew much about him and that it was infact quite difficult to find out anything about him, people used that to mean he obviously had something to hide and since then the media and everyone else have went out their way to find out everything and anything about him, no matter how big or small and blow it way out of proportion I'm not saying Whyte is innocent but it's quite clear some people are just never gonna take to him(Rangers fans included) and will do whatever they can to make things as difficult as possible for him
please log in to view this image Anyone else find the image of Craig Whyte striding into a boardroom with a Daily Record folded under his arm a bit incongruous? I call shenanigans.
