In all honesty I have to agree Mr RAWhite, the two latest incumbants of the keepers jersey have both shown themselves in good light. But from day one, Craig Gordon, International keeper has always struggled in the air, so in my opinion it is a two way fight. Gordon is not in the frame. If we can sell him on and at least recoup a half decent fee in the process then get shot of. From what i've seen of the keepers at Man Utd, the competition is not that hot. SAF must be ripping his hair out at the keepers he's signed since the great Dane. None of which have cut the mustard.
There was a lot of clamouring about the £9m fee we "paid" for Craig Gordon but it was actually only 6m up front and the other 3m on appearances and clean sheets etc. So far I think we've only paid 7m (prior to this one) and there is another 1m clause left to fulfill before we've actually paid the full £9m I though Craig was a class act up until his last few performances for us - When he recovered from an ankle injury Roy Keane played him in the cup and he could hardly stand let alone play!! (if memory serves me correctly!) If he gets rid of his injury problems and gets back to what he's capable of then he's a class keeper - but Westwood has proven he's up to the task and Mignolet is a good stand in when required (until he gets his experience up)
