Its got to the point now where im starting to think feck it lets get relegated its what we deserve and what the Chairman deserves for not sharing the fans ambition. Every other fan must hate us for the way we pull it out the bag from March onwards. Weve been in the Prem for 10 years now and weve only had 2 seasons where our arses werent twitching.
I bet nobody wants to play us during the last ten games.
It's a pity about the other 28 though.

We wont be lucky every time, the sooner we start winning the better, we require a Pardue style run to get us out of the bottom three, the longer we are in there the tougher it will get. If we survive this time we stand a good chance of building a decent future with Moyes, he is moving slowly in the right direction imo, whether it will be far enough to save the situation this season we will have to see. Turn the clock back and we were in a similar situation, then I thought if we go down I want us to keep Big Sam to bring us back up again, I feel exactly the same about Moyes.

Got great reception when taking a corner Carling Stand End, waved and was humbled. Always thought he was ok. Have we moved on or back.?
SAFC fans problem in a nutshell. We applauded him when his name was read out and when he came onto the field. Barely a soul clapped for a single one of our own subs. I hate it. I don't mind applauding a former player but support the current ones first

I'd have said that Gardner got roughly the same level of applause that our subs got. It certainly wasn't rapture vs. silence.

Technically it'd be nice if we raised the roof when Gooch gets brought on 80 minutes in but it's a bit of an unrealistic thing to expect. I'd take our appreciation and respect of decent ex players as a sign of the courtesy of the region rather than a negative.

Can't speak for anyone but me, but part of the reason he got such a good reception was to emphasise how bad a reception McLean was given.

Odd player though.
Most fans like him, particularly for his dead ball shot. He always gives 100%, with is always appreciated and his defending in general is solid.
Managers though tend to rate him just enough to keep him but not enough to play him from the start too often.

I think a lot of fans like him because of his work ethic. He is no flair player, what he lacks in skill and finese, he tries to make up in workrate.

A workhorse. Same mould as Bardo and Catts.

Workhorse.

That's the word I was searching for - and missing.
Thanks.<ok>

You obviously weren't sat where I was - Gardner got a nice warm applause from everyone in the south stand - our subs got applause from me and my son - no-one else around us clapped for any of them. Wish I had a video of it to shame some of them (not including you in this Nacho but you're obviously nowhere near where I sit!)

I don't see (and don't say) that applauding the opposition players who used to play for us as a negative at all. It's a lovely gesture and, as you say, shows the courtesy of ourselves. I see the lack of applause for our own as the negative.

applauding for former players, especially in this instance, not only recognises their former contribution to the team but also emphasises to our ****-head owner that, quite often, they have moved on to better things while we have continued to stagnate.
