Right-ho gentlemen, and hopefully a few ladies as well, welcome to this year´s CPL. Getting this one in nice and early so that everyone has a chance to take part. Pretty much the same procedure as last year, but with a few tweaks and additions which I hope you´ll enjoy as we go along. There´s a lot to get through, so please bear with me.
Firstly, this year the CPL will include ALL City games (incl. Carling Cup and FA Cup) which means that there will be no separate CPL Cup competition. We´ll be predicting the HT score, FT score, 1st City goalscorer and City´s overall match possession in both home and away games. There´ll also be a special Bonus Prediction (which to those who do the LINE-UPs, will come as no great surprise
) which will apply to Home games only, and which will vary from game to game.
I´ve tried to keep the scoring simple, and it is as follows:
correct HT scoreline = 3 pts
correct HT result (ie. win lose or draw) = 1 pt
correct FT scoreline = 3 pts
correct FT result = 1 pt
correct 1st City scorer = 3 pts
if predicted player scores at any other time = 1 pt
if predicted player scores an o.g = -2 pts
correct City match possession = 3 pts
correct City match possession (+/- 1 %) = 1 pt
correct Home Match Bonus prediction = 3 pts
The top scorer(s) each week will have 2 pts added to their score, and at the end of the month, as well as promotion and relegation, there will be a Predictor of the Month award, which will go to whoever has top-scored the most times during the month. If there happen to be more than one who have top-scored an equal number of times, then the award will go to whoever of these has the highest points total from the month. If they still can´t be split, then there will be a joint award. The winner of this prestigious monthly award will also have 2 points added.
The 16 who ended last season in the PL plus the top 4 promoted on the last day of the season, will start this year in the PL providing they predict this opening game. Any who don´t, will have their place taken by the principle of ´first come first served´ predictions in this thread. If you´re not sure who you are, then this will help,

I´ll stick to the classical method of prom/releg. ie. top 3 up, bottom 3 down, irrespective of points.

Reigning champion: Maestro [This Fixture - Head to Head: Norwich wins 9, Draws 8, Everton wins 7]
So predictions here please for HT score, FT score, 1st City scorer, and City´s overall match possession for Saturday´s game
*Home Match Bonus* - predict at which end City´s 1st goal will be scored ( neither is naturally also an option)
Deadline: ( will always be) 15 mins before match start
and all the very best, rbf ( and don´t forget, it´s a marathon not a sprint)
