Crawley are only one league beneath us, need cup runs to provide finance and will play their best team. We will experiment, field a weakened side and tend to treat this competition as an inconvenience. Crawley have caused cup shocks in the last few years, played Ipswich off the park in the last round and have only conceded 4 goals in 5 league and cup games this season. City to win by 4 or 5 clear goals - you must be joking. This is a game we could quite easily lose.

All excellent points, but our second string (especially given that it will include a number of new signings who could arguably be "first team") should still easily be strong enough to deal with them, possibly after exhausting them late on, which is what I've gone for. Plus, bear in mind that Ipswich are turgid **** and I think a team of Canary Robs could possibly play better passing football than them.

You are right that we should be no means excessively confident, though.

I´ll take it as it is vet, you´re still clear of the last hour, when the teams have to announce line-ups so it´s okay
