What was over ambitious about staging it at the KC? it would've sold out for certain.

I really doubt that, a sell out for boxing at the KC would be over 30k (25k plus pitch seats).

There won't be many people interested in the fight from outside Hull and a large proportion of the Hull population will be at the Humber street sesh.

Much bigger fights don't sell out 30k plus venues, what makes you think this one would?

Luke Campbell MBE and Tommy Coyle will clash in an official eliminator for the WBC World Lightweight title at Craven Park in Hull on August 1, live on Sky Sports.

The Hull pair have been on a collision course over the last year and will come face-to-face at a public press conference at the City Hall in Hull tonight (Thursday June 11) – with sparks set to fly after a war of words began between them in the media.

Tickets for the event go on sale tomorrow (Friday June 12) at 10am for Matchroom Fight Pass members priced at £25 (Standing), £40 (Tiered), £60 (Floor), £100 (Floor) and £200 VIP available at www.matchroomboxing.com

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Saturday 13th June with tickets in the £25-£100 bracket available from www.hullkr.co.uk while the £200 VIP tickets are available exclusively from www.matchroomboxing.com

“The stage is set for the one of the biggest sporting events the city of Hull will ever see,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “Two world-ranked lightweight contenders will battle it out in an official eliminator for the WBC World title – it’s East versus West, a city divided with everything on the line. Fans can expect a huge card with the rematch set for Brian Rose to exact revenge over Carson Jones, two-weight World champion Ricky Burns and undefeated Super Featherweight champ Martin Ward defending his title. It’s going to be an epic night for the city.”

Eddie Hearn on why the fight isn't at the KC: "In all honesty, I wanted a partner in this event that felt the passion that I did and I didn't feel that from KC, from the football team. They wanted the event but there was something about Craven Park that said it would mean something special to us if we got this & that was the deciding factor"

I hope they don't start acting like a pair of clown shoes in an attempt to big up the bout.

    It would lack class.

I don't see anything but a Campbell win. For me it seems that since Campbell joined the pro ranks Coyle has been given more exposure and pushed a bit all with a view to making this stepping stone fight for Campbell seem a bigger contest than it is. Good marketing. Coyle isn't bad but he's not great. Campbell to knock him out within 4 rounds for me.
