Nope. It's the easy way out. Whatever problems a person had that caused them to commit suicide they chose to bale out and leave their families to deal with it.

Obviously, the exposive waistcoat nutters are a different thing entirely.

If you've got a family (and I'm talking missus and kids, not just mum, dad, siblings etc), there really is no excuse for suicide. It's very selfish. Though some forms of depression are extremely debilitating so it's not really fair to condemn.

I don't think I condemned. I do consider suicide to be the easy way out though. It would be harder to deal with the problems rather than selfishly top yerself and leave your family with that to deal with.

Ironically you've quoted me out of context.
The OP didn't say that he was talking about all attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan and mentioned facing certain death, so I assumed that he was talking about the suicide bombings in Kabul earlier in the day.
I certainly never implied that all attacks in Iraq or Afghanistan were by suicide bombers.

Bush is a religious lunatic, but are you honestly trying to claim that the Taleban aren't?

The taliban were minding their own business, running the country as they saw fit. May agree/disagree with elements but that isnt the point
they were attacked, forces came onto their land and attacked them, they fought/are fighting back against the might of the US and its allies.
David and Goliath if you will, and holding their own. with no where near the military hardware or might.
cowards? no way imo. a proud and fierce and brave people

You specifically quoted me and implied that I did.
"really? I thought you did when you said, and i quote..."

    Really?
I thought that they systematically massacred and tortured a bunch of civilians due to their faith or racial background, including a bunch of Iranian diplomats, while running the country as an oppressive theocracy and making money from the opium trade?

I have no problem with the people of Afghanistan, but it appears that the Taleban do.

You specifically quoted me and claimed that I believed what you'd stated.
I was pointing out that you're wrong.
Just accept that and move on, rather than trying to deflect things.

You get very defensive when you're shown to be wrong.
    Why is that?

    I'm really not.
Feel free to prove me wrong, though.

The Taleban are not the people of Afghanistan.
They are one section of that society.
That'd be like saying that the having a problem with the EDL means that you have a problem with the people of England.

Yeah, if you're going to kill yourself, then please minimise the disruption to other people and keep the amount of cleaning down, too.

The EDL, Like the BNP could become a political party. They could take over the country as the taliban did. kind of changes perspectives.

I suggest you look up what taliban is/are. They are not a race. Taliban simply means students

    I'm clearly not.
    You're just being utterly dishonest.

As I've told you before, people don't choose what they believe.
If I'm wrong, then prove to me that I'm wrong.

    Exactly.
The Taleban is made up from people from Afghanistan, but it's not the same as the people of Afghanistan.
The EDL is made up of people from England, but it's not the people of England.

In what way does that change perspective?
I'm sure that various members of the EDL plan to make it a political movement.
It'll fail if they do though, just as the BNP in it's various incarnations has.

I'm well aware of what the Taleban is and haven't suggested that it's a race.
The meaning of the name is irrelevant, too.
