I got my second astra zeneca last Friday, which is no bad thing seeing as India is well on track to have half a million new cases a day by end of this week, and hospitals are turning away patients now. This new strain is seemingly much quicker to transmit too.

I know lots of families here who have all got it together after one of them was in contact with someone outside who tested positive.

We just came out of a mini lockdown in Perth whilst the authorities looked at whether we needed a longer lockdown after Covid managed to escape hotel quarantine. Not much signs of vaccines here, but then again most of the rest of the world needs it more than we do! Back to working from home for at least the next week I think. My parents in Norfolk both have their second vaccine booked

This is absolutely shocking. Ignore the millions of travelers coming untested into Heathrow but focus instead on a handful of Syrian refugees desperate for a new start in life <doh>

We finally have a working track and trace system. Simply track any recently awarded government contract and you can trace it back to one of their mates.

    Haha so true!

WA has a really good system. Each business has a QR code to scan into the Safe WA phone app and a book. If you have your phone you scan the QR code or fif you don't have a phone you write your name and number in a book, it is mandatory at all businesses. The app works, is simple and you can add a visitor. So for example you can add your wife as well and once you have added them once you can choose to include them or not. It doesn't drain the phone battery and is really easy!

We entrusted £37 billion to Dido Harding to formulate a plan .....and ended up with an ineffective pile of dogshit!! Which has largely been swept under the carpet <grr>

And guess what, Dildo Harding is an ex Oxford mate of Boris's. Her post as president of the Jockey Club allowed her to persuade Boris to let Cheltenham go ahead as a super spreader event at the beginning of the lockdown. That privileged job also made perfectly suited to head up the track and trace system which as Boris promised has been 'world beating' (except that it's not). :emoticon-0121-angry

I read recently that the NHS track and trace was heavily reliant on collecting all that lucrative data on Android and Apple with both tech giants refusing to give up that information so the app is pointless relying on customers to input their location at a pub or restaurant.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ck-nhs-covid-app-update-over-privacy-breaches

Which was a massive oversight and incompetence but I personally don't want my data being sold to the highest bidder in the name of saving our NHS .

Agree, but that's too much use of the 'B' word. Can we just call the prick Johnson?

I'm sure Sir Keir Starmer would have rolled out a track and trace system that wasn't reliant on Apple or Google for a fraction of what the Tory scum wasted and covid would have been completely eradicated and it would be business as usual by now .

Shame the stupid Brexitard racist gammons are even allowed to vote and we end up with these clowns in charge.

Ursula Von Der Leyen seems to know how to sort out vaccines and track and trace.

    Perhaps we can rejoin ?

No what the UK needs to do is crack open the north sea and tow the British Isles into the middle of the Atlantic so you can be like New Zealand and Australia. However the boarders would probably stay open or give people 2 weeks notice of closing them from a highly infected part of the world

That's all right there's an old fault that runs between the boarders of the countries so if we can reactivate it they should slide in opposite directions

Apparently his lawyers are arguing that he had covid a month ago which means he is exempt... his catching of covid is mightily convenient if you ask me!
